When a birth, marriage or death is registered, a certificate is filled out and the
information is kept on file and added to the summary register, or Index, of all
the events. As in books, the Indexes won't tell you everything, but will give you
key information, such as names, dates (specifically quarters) and places (the district
the event occurred). They also give you all the references you need to discover
more - in this case, order a certificate.

if both subjects surnames are known, the indexes will be cross checked to locate
an exact match)
- From Jan 1912 subject and spouse details
- District where marriage was registered
- Quarter & Year that marriage was registered (Eg Jan-March 1908)
- GRO Reference details
What information will I receive after successful Death records search ?
We will email you after successful death records search which provide the
following information:
- Forename and Surname of deceased (middle names may be registered just as initials)
- District where death was registered
- Age at death (from Jan 1866)
- Quarter & Year that death was registered (Eg: Jan-March 1908)
